The importance of taking care of ourselves is more apparent now than seemingly ever before. It is human nature to need support, although we commonly like to deny this of ourselves. It is becoming a common saying that how we treat and take care of ourselves sets the stage for everything else in our lives. Whether it's a general feeling of being overwhelmed, a history of trauma, or difficulty in relationships, individual therapy can be the difference you're looking for. I challenge myself to create a compassionate, comfortable and non judgmental space for healing to happen. Many modalities such as Brainspotting, aromatherapy, EMDR, wellness and lifestyle coaching may be incorporated into the individual therapy session.
Brainspotting (BSP) was discovered by David Grand, PhD, and is described as a "Neuroexperiential process for healing and expansion". BSP does not include being "hooked up" to any machines or electrodes that are scanning or reading your brain. Rather, BSP happens in the comfort of the therapy office simply by gazing at an identified point. "Where you look affects how you feel" is the motto of BSP. Our field of vision is used to find where we are holding pieces of unprocessed trauma in our brain. The techniques used in BSP promote the deep processing that leads to the release and resolution of trauma, as well as improving positive neural networks. The focus of BSP is not limited to topics of trauma, BSP will take you to places of unresolved issues related to current concerns that you may or may not be consciously aware of. Therefore, it can also be effective for most any issue or stress you may find yourself struggling with. It is also effective in improving positive mindset, eating/healthy habits, performance of any kind (ie sports, theater) and creativity.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) was discovered by Francine Shapiro, PhD, in the late 1980s. It is a trauma-informed modality of therapy utilizing bilateral stimulation to achieve a level of left brain-right brain integration. This integration facilitates processing of traumatic and difficult experiences that contribute to negative beliefs about ourselves and the world around us.
